Red Nose Day
We had our game face on last Friday for Comic Relief: Red Nose Day, with lots of sporty fundraising events being held during break times, raising a whopping £371.91! Events included penalty shootouts, a rowing challenge and dance party.
Mr Neville and Mr Thomas went head-to-head with the students in penalty shootouts in the sports hall. Whilst Canteen Manager, Tom, got in on the action for the team rowing challenge in The Street. It really was competitive, with a total distance of 122,000 meters/75 miles rowed within the two breaks!
Miss LePage headed up the Dance Party with Ms Stokes and Mrs Osmaston all showing some impressive dance moves! There was plenty of involvement from the students, with some even giving up their breaks to help go around and collect money with buckets. Staff and students danced to the macarena and other party songs, finishing with the conga which was impressively long!
Miss LePage who organised the events said, “I am so pleased with how successful the day was. It was lovely to see how involved the students were, and their generosity was mind-blowing! It really shows how giving our students are and wanting to support people less fortunate than themselves. I couldn’t believe how much we raised, it was so much more than I expected.”
This year, the funds raised by our fundraising events and bake sake totalled £592. This will be split between Comic Relief and the #HelpUkraine Emergency Appeal. Thank you to everyone who took part in the fundraising.
