Oliver Jr: A Spectacular Success!

Wow - What a show!
This half-term, our Performance Theatre was transformed into the bustling streets of Victorian England for our dazzling production of Oliver Jr! After months of dedication and rehearsals, our talented students brought the beloved musical to life, delivering three unforgettable performances filled with energy, passion, and incredible stage presence.
From the very first note, the audience was immersed in Oliver’s journey—meeting a cast of unforgettable characters along the way, including The Artful Dodger, the cunning Fagin, the warm-hearted Nancy, and the menacing Bill Sikes. With show-stopping musical numbers like ‘Oom-Pah-Pah’, ‘Consider Yourself’, and ‘Where is Love?’, every scene was packed with emotion, humour, and breathtaking performances.
This cross-campus production was one of our biggest yet, with a cast and crew of 105 students working both onstage and behind the scenes. We are incredibly proud of all our performers, including our talented double-cast leads: Iris and Phoebe as Nancy, Eonan and Ollie as Oliver, Emily and Freddie as Fagin, Albie and Belle as Dodger, and Liam and Maisie as Bill Sikes.
From the tuneful singing and engaging acting to the captivating choreography and seamless backstage support, every element of the show came together beautifully. The audience laughed, clapped, and gasped at the drama unfolding before them, making it a truly immersive experience.
Maisie, who played Bill Sikes, reflected on the experience:
"The energy in every rehearsal and performance has been unbelievable, and it’s been amazing to be part of such a talented group for this year’s production. Playing Bill Sikes has been a dream—villains are always such a thrill to portray, and it’s an honour to take on this role alongside Liam. The singing was a challenge, but overcoming those difficulties in my solo made it all the more rewarding."
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Scafftec for their incredible professionalism and organisation in generously supplying and creating the scaffolding bridge prop used during the performance.
A huge thank you to our dedicated students, staff, families, and friends for their unwavering support in making Oliver Jr such an unforgettable success!
