World Class: Virtual Reality

Here at Stoke Damerel, we are committed to providing a world-class curriculum, ensuring that our students have immersive and engaging learning experiences. One of the ways we achieve this is through cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality (VR), which allows students to explore subjects in an exciting and interactive way.

Before half-term, Mr. Henson’s Year 7 Art class embarked on a breathtaking underwater adventure—without ever leaving the classroom! Using VR, students were transported to the depths of the ocean, where they explored vibrant coral reefs, delicate sea anemones, and a variety of fascinating marine life.

This immersive experience helped them gain a deeper understanding of how colour is used in nature and how they can apply this to their own artistic creations. Their reactions were nothing short of magical, bringing learning to life in a way that traditional methods simply cannot.

This is just one of the many exciting opportunities our students will have as we continue to integrate more innovative technology into our curriculum. Watch this (virtual space)!
