Year 12 Students Explore Realising Opportunities at Exeter University

17 students from Year 12 had the exciting opportunity to attend the Realising Opportunities (RO) launch event at Exeter University. This prestigious programme, affiliated with 12 of the UK’s leading Russell Group universities, offers participants access to contextual offers from some of the country’s top higher education institutions.
The day was filled with a variety of activities designed to deepen the students' understanding of university life and highlight the benefits of being part of the RO programme. It began with a guided tour of the campus, where they explored the facilities and experienced the vibrant student atmosphere.
Following the tour, the students were introduced to the many benefits of the Realising Opportunities programme. This session emphasised how the programme provides support, guidance, and a clear pathway to higher education. The students also participated in subject-specific workshops, engaging with different academic disciplines and exploring areas of study they might want to pursue in the future.
Throughout the day, current university students served as guides, offering valuable insights and sharing personal experiences. The students reported that the event helped them gain a clearer perspective on the advantages of attending university, with many commenting on how much they enjoyed the campus atmosphere.
The Realising Opportunities scheme will continue throughout the year, offering online courses and another chance to experience university life first-hand.
