Students Learn About Composting and Environmental Responsibility
Recently, a group of students from across all years had the opportunity to take part in a hands-on learning experience that focused on composting, reducing food waste, and understanding the ecosystems in our local area.
The visit took place at the "Zoofield" in Central Park, where they collaborated with the "Green Communities Group," an organisation we previously partnered with on school planting projects. This group, part of the National Trust, works alongside Plymouth City Council to foster environmental awareness.
Throughout the day, students gained practical insights into how composting helps reduce waste and supports the environment. Many noted that the experience enhanced their sense of responsibility for waste management and increased their appreciation for environmental stewardship.
Students found the experience both ‘fun’ and ‘educational’, offering a great opportunity to connect with nature and understand how their actions can lead to positive change. Activities like these continue to strengthen our school’s commitment to environmental learning and inspire future projects that benefit both students and the community.
