Celebrating Our U13 Girls Football Team: A Great Start in the ESFA Cup!

The U13 girls football team recently kicked off their season with an exciting fixture in the ESFA Cup against Tavistock College. Despite a challenging match that saw them trailing 1-0 just five minutes in, the girls demonstrated remarkable resilience and teamwork, successfully holding Tavistock off for the majority of the game.

Throughout the match, the team worked tirelessly and came close to equalising on several occasions, showcasing their growing skills and determination. In the final minutes, Tavistock scored a second goal, and while the match ended in a 2-0 result, the girls can take pride in their hard-fought performance.

Although the outcome wasn’t what they had hoped for, many players stood out, with special recognition going to Brooke from Year 7, who earned the Player of the Match award for her exceptional work rate and ability to drive the team forward.

One of the most exciting aspects of this season is the incredible turnout for girls' football! Over 30 pupils are regularly attending our girl's football club, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for the sport. With this level of commitment and passion, the future of girls' football at our school looks very bright!
