GCSE RESULTS DAY - A TRIUMPH FOR OUR YEAR 11 SUPERSTARS!
Congratulations to our amazing Year 11 students on their GCSE results!
GCSE results day brought a wave of celebration for students at SDCC, with several high achievers eager to share their accomplishments and future aspirations.
Amy achieved an outstanding set of results, securing all 8’s and 9’s. Reflecting on her success, she said, “I am really happy with my results. I worked hard, and I’m pleased it paid off. I’m excited to start sixth form at SDCC, studying English, Maths, and Art.”
Similarly, Thea was overwhelmed by her impressive results, also achieving 8’s and 9’s across the board. “I sacrificed seeing my friends to study, but I never expected to get such good grades. It feels really good though!” she shared. Thea plans to return to sixth form to study History, English Literature, and Physics, with a dream of studying History at university.
Obada’s journey to success is particularly inspiring. Despite arriving in the UK midway through Year 6, he managed to achieve 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s in his GCSEs, surpassing his predicted grades by three levels. “I had to work really hard to keep up and to get the grades I wanted,” he said. “My Dad and the teachers here at school have been a massive support.” Obada aims to study Medicine at university and will continue his studies at SDCC, focusing on Biology, Chemistry, and Maths.
For Amelie, balancing her studies with international-level diving training was no easy feat, but her hard work paid off. “It was challenging at times, but I did what I needed to do, and it feels really good knowing it’s paid off,” she said. Amelie will return to SDCC Sixth Form to study Business, Sports, and Biology, with dreams of either competing in the next Olympics or becoming a Chiropractor.
Ayla was thrilled with her results, which exceeded her expectations. “I’m shocked but over the moon! I studied really hard and gave up time doing other social activities, and I’m glad it paid off.” Ayla is excited to join SDCC Sixth Form to study Psychology, Health & Social Care, and Childcare, with hopes of pursuing a career in Law.
These students’ achievements are a testament to their dedication, hard work, and ambition. As they embark on their next steps at SDCC Sixth Form, they carry with them the confidence and determination to pursue their dreams.
