Cadets Gear Up for Exciting Summer Camp
A CCF update!
As the CCF summer camp approaches, our cadets have been hard at work mastering new skills that they'll soon put to use.
The RAF cadets have been especially busy, enjoying activities like gliding, flying, and adventurous training in the Lake District. Meanwhile, the Navy section has been honing their emergency response skills with a damage repair simulator and rigorous fire-fighting training, ready for any situation whilst at sea.
During the recent half-term break, Mr. O'brien led a 9-day mountaineering expedition in Norway on behalf of the National Cadet Adventurous Training Team, providing the cadets with experiences in leadership and outdoor survival skills.
Most recently, after months of progressive training, the army cadets had a session advancing from basic air rifle handling to expert training with the L98A2 Cadet GP rifle, also known as the SA80. They've mastered everything from rifle maintenance and assembly to live ammunition drills and firing procedures.
These skills are just a glimpse of what they will apply at the CCF summer camp. Their training isn't simply about learning new skills; it's about preparing them to confidently tackle real-world challenges.
