Year 10 Students Shine in The British Biology Olympiad Challenge
Students at SDCC recently showcased their biology prowess by participating in the Biology Intermediate Challenge, a national competition from The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) that attracted a whopping 45,400 13 - 15-year-old students from all corners of the country.
The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) challenges and motivates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents.
Throughout the challenge, students engaged in two 25-minute online tests encompassing a broad range of biological topics. While the questions aligned with the school curriculum, the competition also recognised students who demonstrated additional knowledge gained from reading, watching natural history documentaries, and keeping updated with biological developments in the news.
Huge congratulations to Luke and Alex, who both achieved silver awards, landing them in the top 15% of participants! Also, to Noah and Nicholas who secured bronze awards, placing them in the top 30% - just incredible!
Many other students also received both Highly Commended and Commended certificates as well.
These outstanding achievements highlight the dedication and talent of SDCC's budding biologists. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and success!
