Superstar Reuben through to the first round of the Oxford University Computing Challenge

Our talented student, Reuben, has been working towards the Bebras Computing Challenge and we’re delighted to reveal some exciting news!

Mr Greenhough, Subject Leader for Computing said, “Reuben regularly attends the Code Club after school, as part of their activities, Reuben was entered into the Bebras Computing Challenge. I am delighted that Reuben achieved a score of 129 points, putting him in the top 10% of all students nationally!

For his age group, there are over 185,000 students that took part in the UK so this really is a huge achievement. This means that Reuben has received an invitation to the first round of the Oxford University Computing Challenge, due to start on 16th January 2023.”

Reuben said, “I am really chuffed and excited to be through to the Oxford University Computing Challenge. I was quietly confident as I seem to pick computing up really easily. I really enjoy it and it interests me so therefore I find myself working on projects without thinking it may help me in a competitive environment. I think my parents were just as happy with me!”

We're absolutely thrilled for Reuben and look forward to seeing how he performs in this prestigious competition. Good luck and watch this space for updates!
