Science and Technology Showcase
50 of our Year 10 students visited the Science and Technology Showcase at Plymouth University today. The aim of this event is to raise students’ aspirations in science and technology subjects and demonstrate how exciting STEM can be at A level and in higher education.
Exhibits ranged from Google Earth virtual reality to amazing invertebrates, arcade game technology to icebergs melting and bike powered recycling plastics to the Turing test. There really was something for everyone and plenty of opportunities for students to get hands on.
As well as taking part in a range of engaging activities, this was a unique opportunity for students to talk with current undergraduate students, PhD students and academics about what it’s like to study and work in STEM.
The Students had an amazing day and came back with lots of things to think about for the future!
