A group of Year 12 Art students had the chance to work with professional craftspeople as part of a trip to Plymouth College Of Art.

The students were taught about the processes involved with ceramic slip surface manipulation. Students explored numerous techniques used by professionals in the industry in order to produce a range of outcomes of their own.

"It was great to see the students extending their learning outside of the classroom working with materials and techniques used within the professional world of Art, Craft and Design," said Mr Stephens, Head of Art.

"The students enjoyed the experience and were proud of their outcomes."

This workshop is part of a series the Stoke Damerel Art Department has organised to aid the development of the students' creative capital.

"Through working with professionals and visiting creative establishments, students are developing their creative understanding and the role it has in their future," added Mr Stephens.
