This year the College is supporting PLCC,a charity for local people based here in Plymouth, created to provide grants of up to £500 for children and young adults (under 25) living within the PL postcode area.

The charity has supported a number of our own young people with grants for equipment from music to prom suits.

We have decided to give a little back by supporting the PLCC Shoe Box Appeal  Many of our support staff and each tutor group have put together a shoe box with a few gifts for local children creating a total of 55 filled boxes.

Students have really engaged in this and Maddie in Miss Miller's group has gone above and beyond by making four shoe boxes.

"Maddie has made shoes boxes for boys and girls aged 6-9 months and 5-6 years and is a great example of our Stoke Damerel Six," said Mrs Osmaston, Assistant Vice Principal.

"She is really thinking about others at this time of year."

Shelley Colman and Thelma Baldry from PLCC came into SDCC on Friday 14 December to collect the shoe boxes.

If you would like to know more about the charity and how it supports young people please contact Mrs Osmaston or look at this link.
