Five students from the College's Young Carers group were so inspired by their visit to a local donkey sanctuary they have decided to fundraise to sponsor a donkey.

The Glowing Stars group visited the sanctuary at Ivybridge to take part in donkey-assisted therapy on 13 November 2018.

The therapy focuses on key skills such as self-esteem, managing emotions and empathy.

"We were met by Bob and his staff, who welcomed us to the sanctuary. They were all very friendly and welcoming," said Mrs Jones, who accompanied the group. "It was a lovely experience and the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves - they are going to go back to the YC group and plan ideas on how to fundraise so they can sponsor a donkey."
