Our students had a fantastic morning of football at Goals at the Secondary Inclusive Football event on 14 November.

"We were incredibly fortunate to have Invictus athlete Nick Martin, a Stoke Damerel teaching assistant, with us to open our event and talk with all the students about determination and respect among athletes. " said Mr Tills, who accompanied the group.

"There were seven teams taking part from Stoke Damerel, St Boniface, Marine Academy and Cann Bridge. Although the students play a round-robin competition at these events, it is not just about the winning: the main focus at these events is on respect, determination and teamwork. Everyone who takes part receives a certificate but there is also a very special medal up for grabs by one individual on every team: Jessica received one for Resilience and Jacob received one for Excellent All-Rounder.

"Other players who took part in the day and really did the College proud were Maddie, Dylan, Ronnie, Nidal, Harry and Joe."
