College Marks Armistice 100
12 November 2018
The College marked this particularly poignant Remembrance period with a series of events, displays and assemblies. Malcolm and Gill Giles brought their amazing collection of First World War artefacts and memorabilia in to the College on Friday.
Our Year 11 and 12 CCF cadets helped run events in The Street, which was full of displays of photographs and poetry - including an art installation created by Mr Jackson with the Year 7 Art Club. Hundreds of students and staff wrote their thoughts about Remembrance and the Armistice on poppy postcards which are still on display.
CCF cadet Cole said; "It's really important to remember them, if they didn't stand up for us we might not be here today."
Fellow cadet Alyssa said: "We have to keep remembering - it stops us from making the same mistakes again."
