A group of our Year 13 Photography students enjoyed an "inspiring" trip to Bristol to visit two exhibitions.

First on the agenda on 4 October was contemporary artist Grayson Perry’s THE MOST POPULAR ART EXHIBITION EVER!

"Once at the gallery we were treated to a tour from the gallery staff who helped our students make links between their own projects and the work of the artist," said head of Photography Mr Henley.

"Students were impressed by the range of Perry’s oeuvre- including ceramics, sculpture, films and even a motorbike.

"Students had time to reflect on the exhibition as they then turned their cameras onto the streets of Bristol for a photoshoot."

In the afternoon students visited the City Museum and Art Gallery where they saw a powerful exhibition dealing with photography from the city's colonial past. "

"This hard-hitting show allowed us to consider the role of the curator as the images were all chosen and contextualised by members of Bristol’s community," said Mr Henley.

"As we drove back to Plymouth our students buzzing with inspiration."
