You will have received a letter regarding the arrangements for purchasing new uniform. These letters can be found on our LETTERS HOME page

Year 6 Students Joining in September 2018

All orders MUST be submitted by Wednesday 15 August to allow them to be processed and ready for collection from the College on Monday 3 September.
Due to high demand we will prioritise our new Year Seven cohort between 8am and 10am on Monday 3 September for uniform collection.
The College will, however, be open until 6pm on that day should 8am-10am be inconvenient.
Please report to our Sports Hall via the PE side gate (this will be clearly signposted from our Front Entrance) between those times, where, upon collection, students can try the uniform in the changing rooms if required. Any returns/exchanges can be done either after collection on Monday 3 September or from 11am on Tuesday 4 September.




Current Year 7/8/9 Students

From September 5, any student wishing to wear a skirt must wear our bespoke tartan royal blue skirt. We have also selected a range of bespoke classic or slim leg fit trousers that match our improved quality blazer. The skirts and trousers will have the ‘S’ for Stoke Damerel embroidered in black just below the waistband or the pocket. The skirt or trousers will be compulsory from 5 September. We will also be changing our College tie to match, which will be provided to all students at no cost.


To receive one pair of trousers or a tartan skirt at the discounted rates below, orders must be completed via your ParentPay account.

Current Year 10 Students

From 5 September 2018:

All Year 11 will be provided with a new tie at no cost

Year 11 only may wear black trousers of their own choice as they currently do (same rules apply - no jeggings, jeans or leggings)

Only the SDCC blue tartan skirt can be worn - no other skirts

At the end of the year, provided the skirt is in good condition, we will purchase it back for £5.

Examination PE:
There are a range of items available to purchase for all students who have chosen either a KS4 or KS5 examination course within Physical / Outdoor Education.

Other Uniform Expectations:

Shoes: All students must wear plain black flat shoes that have no logos or white/coloured decorative elements. They must be waterproof (leather-look/polishable) and of a style that is not likely to endanger the wearer whilst in College. Boots, open-toed shoes, sling backs, sandals or flip-flops are not permitted.
Coats: Weatherproof outdoor coats must be acceptable for College use and should only be worn outside and not when inside a College building. Denim, leather, imitation leather jackets, tracksuit tops and hoodies are not acceptable. Coats should not display any inappropriate logos. In cold or wet weather appropriate hats and scarves may be worn to and from College.

Hair: If longer than collar length, hair must be tied back in situations where it could cause a danger to the individual or others, such as in PE and other practical lessons. Extreme fashion hairstyles (eg: very short crew cut, decorative shaved elements or motifs) and extreme hair colours are not allowed - hair must be of a natural colour
Jewellery: Students are permitted to wear a maximum of one small discreet stud earring in each ear and one finger ring of plain design, all of which must be removed for practical and PE lessons. No other items of jewellery, including facial piercing jewellery or retainers are permitted under any circumstances. We accept no liability for jewellery brought into College.
Make up: Any makeup worn by students should be natural and discreet. Colourless nail varnish only may be worn. False nails or nail extensions of any description represent a health and safety risk and may not be worn. Students will be required to remove inappropriate make up or nail varnish

Lost property - The College cannot accept any responsibility for loss of property. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name – please check regularly that the name is still visible.

As you are aware we are making some changes to our College uniform - new students joining us in Year 7 in September can purchase their uniform from our School Shop from 4 July and students in other years can purchase their new uniform items - also from the School Shop - from 9 July.

Girls’ and Boys’ Uniform:

Blazer: The College blazer is to be worn at all times, unless permission is given for it to be removed ( to be purchased from School Shop only)
Plain white collared shirt: Shirts must be worn tucked in with all buttons fastened to the neck
College tie: The tie must be done up at the neck and show the white’S’ logo below the knot ( to be purchased from School Shop only)
Trousers: Trousers must be our formal style tailored school trousers as available from the School Shop. These trousers have an embroidered ‘S’ and come in both regular and slim fittings for both male and female students ( to be purchased from School Shop only)
Skirt: The College tartan skirt is the only style of skirt that may be worn. The skirt must be worn so that it covers the knee when seated. The skirt is available in two lengths. Please ensure that you purchase the length that meets these expectations ( to be purchased from School Shop only)
