With the digital log fire blazing on the TV screen and lights twinkling on the tree students have been cosying up to the library fireplace with their favourite reads.

"The log fire may be digital but as we get closer to Christmas we can see flames of excitement growing in the students.

"It really does give me a warm feeling when students share their hopes for Christmas reads from Santa," said Mrs Wrennall, College Librarian.

"The wonderful thing about receiving a book for Christmas is that you get to open it more than once.

"Not only do you get to peel back the paper to reveal the title, there is the pleasure of slowly unwrapping the story and escaping into new adventures.

"Listening to the students talk about their hopes for Christmas the librarians thought it could be exciting to give them a library book to unwrap on Christmas morning.

"The students are really enthusiastic about having a mystery book to read over Christmas.

"A selection of old and new favourite books have been wrapped and piled into Santa’s Sleigh.

"Each parcel has a gift tag with clues about what kind of a book is inside. Students are issued the book they have picked by its clue and get to take it home to unwrap and read over the Christmas break.

"The library staff are busy wrapping books to keep up with the demand."

Take a peep at some of most requested books on Santa’s list this Christmas:
