A group of Music students were invited to perform at City College's Student Union as part of their Live Music week.

The Year 9 and Year 10 students went to the Goschen Centre on 5 December 2016 and performed on a professional standard stage while members of City College's Live Sound team took care of their sound, their lighting and filmed the entire performance.

The Year 10 group performed three songs for the College students followed by a Year 9 band who performed a seven-song set.

"The students and lecturers at the college were incredibly impressed with the standard of the bands, some of whom were getting their first taste of performance," said Music teacher Mr Crocker.

"I am consistently amazed by the standard and resilience of the young people in our Music department.

"Both groups performed fantastic professional standard sets to the audience and learned so much about performance and being gigging musicians," he added.

"They can now apply this to their own performances back at our College as well as inspiring their peers with their knowledge and confidence."
