The new recruits for the CCF were put through their paces with a rowing challenge at Jupiter Point.

Mr Broomfield - the College's CCF co-ordinator - said the afternoon at Jupiter Point had been a "huge" success.

"The students were a great credit to themselves and to the College," he said.

"They had a fun time using a range of skills - it was clear they wanted to do really well in a competitive environment, which resulted in them being placed fifth and sixth out of 10 teams.

"Considering they were up against some experienced cadets, they really did themselves proud.

Well done to them all," he said.

"We are now looking forward to the First Look exercise we have coming up next month where we spend a weekend away."
