More than 550 people came to find out about becoming part of Year 7 at Stoke Damerel Community College in 2017 at the school's annual Open Evening.
Opening with a presentation from principal Mrs Hannaford and head of school Mrs Griffiths, the audience in the full assembly hall and overflow area were treated to a performance by some of the College's most talented musicians before students shared what makes the College such a great place to learn.
Visitors were then taken on a tour of the College by staff and student tour guides.

"We were overwhelmed at the number of parents and pupils from our community of primary schools and beyond who came to our Open Evening," said Mrs Griffiths.

Zara and mum Terri: "I love it here," said Zara,"It's my first choice."
"We welcomed more than 550 visitors on Wednesday evening.
"The hall was filled very quickly and the overflow area too.

"What was particularly pleasing was to see the number of former students bringing their sons and daughters to see the College, reliving their achievements happy times here and wanting the same for their children.
Rhys and his younger brother enjoyed looking around. "It's been
really fun," said Rhys.
"Visitors remarked on the pride our student tour guides had in their school and the way in which they spoke about the education and opportunities here at Stoke Damerel with such confidence and enthusiasm.
"Thank you to all our staff and students who work so hard each year to make our Open Evening such a success."
