Students got a chance to be vocally creative at two special sessions to learn the art of Beatboxing.

Visiting guests Jake 'Sai-Man' Bradshaw and Jack 'McBeatz' McMinn came to the College on two occasions to teach students about the history of Beatboxing as well as giving them the chance to master some basic beats, effects and styles.

"I think one of the great things about the Stoke Damerel Music Department is our dedication to offering our students varied musical experiences," said Music teacher Mr Crocker.

"The sessions were a lot of fun and Jake and Jack even went into a Year 7 Assembly to show off their talents.

"It's important to acknowledge and recognise many different talents and genres of music, not just typical musical styles.

"We hope to be able to welcome them both back soon for some full class sessions - all the students had a great time and learned so much.

"A couple of members of staff even joined in!"

Jake said he'd had a "fantastic" time at the College.

Media Studies teacher Mrs Hardie described the sessions as a "huge success".

"Jake and Jack were thoroughly impressed with the enthusiasm and resilience our students demonstrated - it's much, much trickier than it sounds!"
