A group of Year 11 Visual Arts students spent the day at Bovisand beach to collect materials and take photographs.

"They are currently studying for their exams within the arts subjects including Textiles, Art and Photography and 3D Design," said Textiles teacher Mrs Moorcroft.

"Some of the topics include looking at the Coast, Journeys, Diaries and Wish You Were Here."

Mrs Moorcroft explained that taking the students to the beach on 23 February 2016 enabled students to collect relevant materials, objects and shells which they can use to draw, or make sculptures, jewellery or textile pieces.

Students also took the opportunity to take photos which they will use in their exam books.

"This builds up their observational skills linking to their third assessment objective," said Mrs Moorcroft.

"It was a brilliant opportunity for all students who attended, and they were a credit to the College."
