Having trained in martial arts since the age of four, Rhys won his second successive British taekwondo title in 2015 and is also a second dan black belt in the sport.

"I was really pleased to be nominated," said Rhys, who was a runner up in his category on the night.

"I really didn't expect to win and it was an honour to even be nominated," said the 14-year-old, who is hoping to go to the World Championships in Brighton
in July.

"I went with my mum, dad and instructor. We had a great time and it was a privilege to be part of such an exciting event."

Miss Le Page and Miss Auton were also runners up in their category.
